The Pulse in Life

The pulse in life extends to business, but it is in the journey and the way in which we engage that will create the sparks to help drive you to the end. Whilst each journey may feel unique (and in some ways it is), there are more similarities than not.

Everything we do starts with a thought, builds into a concept and then you gain the courage to voice it, making it real. The next step is planning, some people plan better than others, some have more drive and more passion, but mostly everyone begins with a thought and wants to make it happen. However, there are some key contributors that will make a difference in the end? Crystallisation (your Why) and Connections.

Having the ability to look inward and being able to crystallise why you want to do something is important. Knowing your why creates your pulse and keeps it going. No matter where you live what you do or what industry you are in, this remains constant.

Once you have your why and you share this with your connections, you make it real. Those with whom you have shared your vision will become part of your support network (building connections). A shared vision and a shared journey allow people to feel like they too belong, you build a community and an instant support network.

I have learned over the years that it is just as important to know what success will look like when you begin your journey so that you have a defined and measurable target to reach. If you don’t set this at the onset, that end result is likely to shift. I am not suggesting that you are not able to realign it along the way, but once it is defined it becomes a conscious change and you have ownership at every stage.

So how do you articulate your why? Look within and ask yourself “what does this mean for me?” Why is this so important? Why do you want to do what you have set out to do? Bring yourself to that “ah-ha” moment and then take the opportunity to set the end result and know what that will mean for you. Ask yourself what would that feel like to achieve it?

When you ask yourself these types of questions at the onset, you will find your passion and/or your pain. These incredibly powerful emotions are a valuable tool to use and reflect upon. it will also enable you to establish how you want to work and how you want to engage with others to best achieve your goal.

These pulses then become part of your symphony and will keep you on track. Investing more time upfront will allow you to have clarity and gain perspective throughout your journey. Remember that in life and in business nothing can be achieved alone, and when you genuinely look inwards and include others from the beginning, gaining that point of crystallisation the outcome is not only successful but your experience is one that has been a positive one.

Enjoy the journey of discovery and check your pulse, find your why and enjoy the symphony as you reach your goal.
